The UHF works within the community through a range of different activities
Volunteer training & workshops
Help communities to build healthy eating habits
Working with health conditions and providing support whilst sign posting people to services within the relative borough they live or work within.
Organising walking sessions and chair exercises, trips to the cinemas, theatre, seasides, Zumba sessions for more elderly people within the diaspora
Hosting themed events e.g. Black History month, World AIDS Day, Cancer Awareness, Mental Health awareness etc
Partnership Building
Support the collaboration between black community organisations with a focus on African & Caribean community organisations
Provide a platform for forum members for learning, sharing their experiences
Facilitate working relationships with other voluntary organisation
Organisational capacity building and technical support
Identify capacity building needs among members and refer to appropriate service providers sourcing or identifying resources or specialists to help members to continue to improve service delivery in areas such as financial sustainability, premises, technical support and specialist advice
